About Me

“Life’s a Batch,” right? Whether it’s a fresh, warm batch of cookies straight from the oven, or a batch of fun photos that I’m working on, life is found in the moments. In fact, there are so many moments around here, I find it hard to keep up!

I’m Nicole, and I think there’s nothing greater in the world than a 1/2-birthday. (You can still have cake, but you don’t have to select the next age category on any survey – ha!) My husband and I were high school sweethearts, and we have been married for over 14 years. He just left the military, where he served Active Duty in the Air Force for just shy of 14 years. In the last six months, we moved from snowy & cold Minot AFB, North Dakota to hot & humid Houston, Texas. What a change!

I have two boys, and I wouldn’t trade them for the world! A.J. is my oldest, and he is quiet & sensitive. Jack is younger, and he is a firecracker of energy. Neither of them ever forget (why do kids remember EVERYTHING they’ve not yet done at bedtime?!), and they are patient “models” for me & my camera.

I love taking pictures! Put it this way: my children never have trouble finding a few photos for school projects! I enjoy food photography as well, and I dabble in portrait photography for dear friends & family. I scrapbook when I find the time, though I must admit it’s been a while!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE your cookies, pictures and stories:) What got you started on decocorating cookies like you do? I love to bake cakes.I’ve done all of my daughter’s b-day cakes (except one 🙁 ) I’ve even done wedding cakes for friends & family. My artistic talent is no where near yours though. I’m just not brave enough to try royal icing yet. Any suggestions as to where to start? P.S. Thanks so much for all your families sacrifices being military 😉

    • Thank you so much, Portia! I’m just now seeing this, but of course, I know now that you’ve already tried my dough & icing recipes have have had success! You are a ROCKSTAR! 🙂

  2. I love too see if you could tell me what would be a good recipe for decorating cookies. Even if you sell it to me , give a recipe cause I use the royal icing one but I have trouble getting the right concentes . Thank

First and foremost thank your husband for his service; and of course, you and the boys as well. I absolutely Love, Love, Love, your Marine cookies! I have an Uncle and cousin both retired from the Marine Corp. and several friends also. I have family that was in the Army and Navy and friends, nieces and nephews who have also served this great nation. Our Troops ROCK!
Do you do special request with your cookies? They are all Adorable!!!!
Thank you again and God Bless
