Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye.

Admit it, you kinda have the old, metallic-sounding theme from the Transformers cartoon show in your head now, don’t you?

You’re welcome. 🙂

My friend Andy celebrated his birthday this past Sunday, and I wanted to make him a special little somethin’ as a surprise. Just because I no longer live in Nebraska doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten my friends!

These cookies are deceiving. (But then again, aren’t Transformers in general??) They might look bigger in the pictures, but they are really just 2″ square cookies. As such, I piped the design very carefully, and then I even had to pipe the “inside” color, too. If I had tried to flood the cookies in any way, I’m pretty sure the icing would’ve flowed over the outline piping, ruining the design.

Now, anyone who knows me well knows that I’ve got a bit of a *thing* for the bad guys, or at least those on the slightly darker side. (Draco Malfoy, Comm. Norrington & Lord Beckett, Jacob Black… you get my drift!) Despite that, when it comes to Transformers, I’m afraid that the evil Decepticons…

… lose out in my heart to the Autobots every single time. There’s just something about Bumblebee being so cute, or maybe it’s just the soothing base of Optimus Prime’s voice. Either way, red wins my heart in this contest!

I was SO stoked to open my email and find Andy gushing over his beloved cookies yesterday. They arrived in just two days’ time! And, true to Andy-form, he gifted me with a little schtick as thanks:

“Pretty awesome surprise.
I guess you could say…
*puts on sunglasses*
You really transformed my day.

yeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaahh~

I’m loving the CSI: Miami reference – one of my very favorite shows!

And hey, if we’re talking Transformers, we might as well go ahead and mention a bit of that sweet Shia, too. 😉
