Addison’s 1st Birthday with Pooh.

Why yes, I’m still behind. These cookies were part of my gift to a sweet little girl at her 1st birthday party back on Feb. 19th.

I’m always late, and I can’t help it. It’s a disease, I swear. *wink*

I received an invitation to Addison’s party, and I called her mother to ask if she would like some cookies for the event as well. She enthusiastically replied, “Yes!” I asked her if there was a theme, and she said, “Well, Winnie the Pooh… and maybe pink?”

So in Pooh’s own words, I tried “think, think, think”-ing for a bit, and I came up with this platter of cookies:

And I loved them! I hand-cut the Pooh shapes, and I used my St. Patty’s day pot-of-gold cutters to make the little “hunny” pots (though I smooshed each shape a bit to make them more narrow), and I think they just turned out so cute! I also added some purple because, well… when I think little girls, I think pink and purple!

(I wish I’d spaced her name just a *smidge* to the right – it was perfectly lettered, but not perfectly centered. Also, I love the cake with the horizontal stripes – very simple but very pretty. I think it’s my favorite cookie!)

I have to give credit for the buzzing-little-bee cookies over to Laurie at Whimsy Cookie Co. Her cookies were just perfect, and I thought they’d make a great addition to this set. I think I only added one little black stripe extra to my bees for these cookies – so cute!

(There were six cookies of each shape [all the cakes were decorated differently], but they just wouldn’t fit in one picture well.)

My friend LOVED the cookies at the party, and several of the guests seemed to like them, too. Little Addison, however, didn’t think they were for eating – she would rather play with a Pooh cookie as a toy than eat it! I suppose that’s the mark of a good cookie, right? *wink*

These are amazing!! My daughter turns 2 in may and she’s obsessed with Pooh, so we’re most likely going to have a Pooh Party! I would LOVE to have you make some of these for her party but we live in AZ… do you ship?

  5. Hi Nicole! These are amazing! I just love your work! Would you mind sharing how to achieve Pooh’s color? Thank you for your help. 🙂

  6. Where did you get the Winnie the Pooh cookie cutter? I really need one and I love the one you used.

    • I actually hand-cut mine. I’ve never found anyone out there that has a cutter just as perfect (especially in size), so I hand-cut every single time. And I make Pooh-related cookies at least twice per month, going on 6 years since the first order of them now!

I also hand-cut Eeyore, but I very rarely make the set of cookies that includes him, too.
